Summer Solstice Setting Sun

As the year turns the sun sets further and further to the left of the island of Lundy. Last night was the summer solstice so the sun at its furthest point left. For the rest of the year it moves gradually to the right until it falls behind Hartland Point and we fall in to winter.

I love living by a tidal coast and marking the seasons by the sun, the moon and the tides. Every day is different even if the place is the same. Since I moved here I no longer have the same urge to travel as I once had.

A simple composition with virtually no editing and this is already one of my favourites from the year so far.
